STRONG POINTS

  • The Exynos 9825 processor can be based on the manufacturing process at 7 nm.
  • It is said that it will come with full integration of 5G.
  • The Samsung Galaxy S10 should be powered by the SoC Exynos 9820.

The launch of the Samsung Galaxy S10 is imminent and the smartphone is expected to be largely powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor in the US market. In other markets, such as India, the smartphone should contain the company's Exynos 9820 chipset, built on the 8-nm process. An informant claims that Samsung could introduce the Exynos 9825 processor in the second half of 2019. This could mean that the successor of the Galaxy Note 9 could be launched with the new integrated Exynos processor, which would give it a considerable advantage over the S10 series.

Tipster Ice Universe traveled to Weibo to make this statement. He says that the Exynos 9825 processor could be introduced in the second half of 2019. It does not share a specific timeline, but if the company manages to launch it before the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10, it could be integrated with the smartphone. This would give the Galaxy Note 10 a significant advantage over the Galaxy S10, which should work with the Exynos 9820 SoC. While the chipset is very powerful in itself, it is built on the 8nm process and is not manufactured with the 7 nm ultraviolet lithography from Samsung.

For comparison, the Apple A12 processor and the Huawei Kirin 980 processor are both designed on the TSMC 7 nm process. The future Exynos 9825, if based on the 7 nm process, should be able to compete well with Apple and Huawei SoCs. Anyway, Samsung has no official word on it, so listen to the news with a pinch of salt.

In addition, the Exynos 9825 should also integrate a complete 5G system-on-chip integration, instead of a connected Exynos 5100 modem, which should be integrated into the Exynos 9820 processor.

If all this is true, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will be a smartphone to watch, with its big screen of 6.75 inches and possibly a bigger battery.
