Release Notes for 2019 Lunar New Year
Hero Updates

  • Reduced armor damage reduced from -5 to -3

Developer's Comment: This change will be particularly noticeable for heroes shooting fast or gusty, such as shotguns, and dealing more than 6 damage per shot. For example, Soldier's Heavy Pulse rifle: 76 will now deal 16 damage per shot to opponents in armor, up from 14 previously (an increase of almost 15%). The armor was a bit too strong overall, especially when the heroes were healed quickly and often. This change will help more heroes fight against enemies with higher armor.

  • Rally: now max 30 seconds

  • Defense Matrix: Koldown extended from 1 second to 2 seconds

  • Harvest: The steal of life has gone from 30% to 50% of the damage done

Previously, Blizzard had revealed that he had between five and six Overwatch heroes in development at one point. The Overwatch team has a variety of potential heroes among whom to advertise and add to the game. Although the thought process behind them is not the same.

"There are five or six prototypes of different heroes that we're working on at any given time," said Chacko Sonny, Production Manager at Overwatch. "Some are motivated by ideas such as" this would be a great addition to this class "and other times he is motivated by a great sketch that we want to turn into [a hero] .I do not want to present a picture of what they "all are inspired in the same way. The inspiration comes from many different places and there are a lot of discussions at that time, to know who is the next hero and what is the right thing to do for the game at that time. "

On this note, we asked if there was a final account of heroes in mind for Overwatch. The game has been launched with 21 heroes and has added eight more since Sonny says the studio is motivated by what the heroes add to the gameplay rather than by their considerable number available to players.

"They all introduced something new and changed the way people play the game," he said. "There have been cases where we have tweaked some things after the release, but we think there is fertile ground for new hero designs, I certainly know with some of the prototypes I've played recently, I am super excited for what will happen.
