• Outlook for iOS received a new update.
  • The new update brings a new design, a deeper integration of the calendar.
  • It also introduces custom scan actions.

Microsoft Outlook has received a new iOS update and brings a new design for all iPhone and iPad users. The application has a new interface, the most notable being the addition of the blue bar at the top, and the new features include custom scan actions, further integration of the calendar, and so on. Redmond giant also uses a dark mode for Outlook iOS application, but this feature does not come with the latest update.

Outlook for iOS has been updated to version 3.8.1 and the changelog does not say much about the changes it brings. He notes that the update includes performance improvements and bug fixes. However, Michael Palermiti, product manager, confirms that the update brings a new design to complete the overall experience. By removing the all-white design from the iOS app, the blue bar at the top is the same as the Android app for a long time, bringing uniformity across all platforms.

Once updated to the new version, The Verge reports that Outlook will also prompt you to set up custom scans that let you decide on trigger actions. It also includes avatars for easy identification of mail. The calendar has been more deeply integrated in Outlook. Email invitations have an online view that lets you know if you have other commitments on the same day, but also accept the invitation and add it as a reminder for the future. The search bar in Outlook also includes people and recent queries. You can update the Outlook for iOS app through the App Store immediately.
